On Friday morning July 14 I visited Prescott Northern School in Adelaide. Pictured here are Principal Shane Blake and Deputy Tim Borgas.
I asked them what the bottom line was for them. They quickly responded that the school’s focus was to make a difference to people’s lives. A strong line for parents was “your kids matter and you matter”, and they noted how “people say we love the vibes of this place.” They were warm in their affirmation of staff, saying “we have a great team to work with here.” I found it easy to agree with them about both the staff and the school climate.
It was all stations go Friday morning because there was spectacular skipping action at school. It was Jump for Heart, a program to improve student fitness and raise funds for the Heart Foundation. In walking around a set of most attractive classrooms I found an excellent values teaching program displayed around the school. It was called Live Life Well-Healthy Relationships Last week flexibility, one of 40 values emphasised for the year was featured. It had been introduced in assembly, published in the newsletter, applied at home, and integrated into teaching units. Thank you again staff of Prescott Northern for your great vision and hospitality. You sure make a difference to many students and parents.
